p.1 #1 · The Comus Inn

This resturaunt has been in the area for hundreds of years and has changed hands more than the battles it incurred during the Civil War. Armies of the Confederacy and the Union used this as a lookout for advancing cavalry from the South and North. Sugarloaf Mt(Stronghold) is in the background and it also was a lookout for both Armies advancing to Gettysburg for the Battle of Gettysburg.
Today it is a great place to have a crab feast as shown in the rear of the resturaunt.

Nice set, Dan. Well composed and presented. The contrast and tonal range looks very good and the blacks are not overdone.

Bill with the price of crabs these days...and the huge increase in price is NOT going to the Chesapeake watermen who do the crabbing, it is becoming more like caviar!
But I do enjoy them immensly!

I love selective color when there is an image that can handle it! The day was very bright, the clouds very fluffy and elongated..extremely hot.....
Thanks!!

J.R.

I am a student of history jr. It can provide some great context to an image. You can walk to the top of Sugarloaf Mt and see SE to central-western Virginia, SW into West Virginia, SE into Maryland and DC and NE/NW into Pennsylvania and northern central Maryland. The Potomac River and the Jubal Early ferry crossing at White's Ferry carrying Confederate troops into Maryland.
This area is ripe with the history of our Country! The Mason Dixon line area can be seen in the Winter, Camp David, and you can invision both Civil War armies racing towards Antietam and Gettysburg. British Major Geo Washington came through during the French and Indian War on his way to Ft Duquesne(Pittsburgh).
Thanks!

Sorry so late in responding Parul!
I try to establish a connection in my photography. It reminds me that I can still use my brain and not just performing an "action".
Thanks!

Appreciate your comment "cc"!
I like selective coloring but it must have a great foundation to use it!
Thanks!
