The LifeSavers colored boots have got to be the perfect footwear for a walk in the woods . I don't know if they attract wildlife, they certainly make the photos more colorful.
Provides the perfect pop of color. Keeps feet dry. Ticks weren’t deterred at all though.

I am glad to see you’re exposing your kids to the woods. They’ll go back to the woods later in life. Maybe even choose vocations related to good stewardship
My middle child, one of the 2 girls, wants to find bugs, crabs under rocks, see birds and catch fireflies.
I think she gets me out there vs the other way around lol

Glad to see more passionate woods walkers! Nothing seems to stop the ticks in some places, even appropriate bug spray and long sleeved clothing. Always good to do thorough checks!
Lovely results with the 35APO. Hard to beat a good hike with a lightweight MF or small enough AF prime and just enjoy the time and what shots you can see with one focal length.
I had the 105 mc with me too but I never used it. 1 small lens and mf is magic sometimes. Macro wasn’t happening with 3 kids so i forgot I even had it.

love the series.. great job on getting them out there.
My wife and I used to take our 2 boys hiking starting from when they were 4 and 6. We would go camping and hiking every chance we would get. Well one is in college and the other is going into the 10th grade and to this day they still love the woods and the outdoors.
Fantastic! We need to do more. 2, 6 and 9 is a handful but making the memories is great.

The tick situation on Long Island is out of control. As long as you don't have a cat, take a look into permethrin treated clothes. Seems to be great at keeping the ticks away, but can be deadly to cats, especially in liquid form.
