p.1 #1 · Looking for a small camera for video/photo, an opposite for my 50s ii.
I love my Fuji 50s ii but I absolutely hate the weight at times. The Nikon z30 I bought for my nephew came in and I've been testing it before I give it to him tomorrow and I absolutely love this little camera. The way it feels in the hand, the look of it,weight, ergonomics & small lenses is just great.
It got me back into thinking about getting a smaller camera, but I am not used to Nikon at all and this is the first time I've used one. I would like to find some smaller cameras like the z30 that are a good mix of photo/video. Or I may just buy another z30,but the lack of EVF,ibis and while I did like the fast autofocus it did seem to miss quite a bit (that could 100% be user error on my part since I only used the camera for 20 minutes).
I really want to stick with a system that has that small feel and hopefully a nice selection of pancake thick lenses. I'd love to stick with a rangefinder style but I guess I'd be open to the SLR if it's a tiny enough camera, maybe the 50z ii? Might be a good fit. I really wish Nikon made an upgraded z30 in the rangefinder style.
I was thinking of the 50z ii, Sony a6700 or maybe the Fuji xs20. Only thing that scares me about Fuji is if the autofocus is going to be good enough. I'm not a fanboy of either of these, I just want what fits best. I'm open to any other camera recommendations !
I was going to get the Canon-Fringer adapter for my 50s ii but now I'm thinking of holding off & selling my Sigma 24-35 and Sigma 40 this week. Either use those funds for a camera or get the lighter lenses like the 50 3.5 or 45mm f2.8 and call it a day with my 50s ii. I think the Fuji 35-70,Mitakon 65 and then add in the 50 or 45 is good enough for my 50s.

Nikon z50 II is a great camera. Like the z30, but with viewfinder. I'm a Leica M user mostly, but also use OM System gear (can use Pany pancake lenses on all the m4/3 bodies) and Nikon. I have the original Z50 and it's a great travel or lightweight camera.

I started off with the Panasonic gh2 4/3 as my first camera. I used to get made of constantly for having a camera that small and people telling me I was a Craigslist photographer with that camera.. I loved that small size back then and hated the bulk of the SLR's of that time..
Only thing I didn't like about Panasonic was the 4/3rds felt too restrictive and Pasonic didn't have a good selection of fast lenses. So 4/3rds isn't something I'd like (I should have mentioned that in the post).
I've never checked out Olympus, I'll see what they have. Thanks!

I need to go check out more reviews of the 50z ii since that would seem like the camera best fit for me, just wish it wasn't SLR style but it seems small enough to where it wouldn't bother me. I'm still in the excited phase over these cameras so I def need to go check out the pro/cons.
I should have mentioned that I don't want Four Thirds camera. Guess I need to check out the Olympus too, thats another brand that I've never used or even looked into. I could have sworn Olympus had a Fuji like following due to the way the images looked but I may be wrong.

The Sigma BF is an option: small, stylisch and focused on photography.
Very nice set of i-series lenses to complement the camera.
That's way out my budget. The max I want to spend for a camera is around the 1200 at the max which would probably be the A6700.
I want the 50z ii but it sucks that it has no IBIS. The a6700 is everything I need but the ergonomics of it suck. I like the Fuji x-s20 too but I dread the Fuji autofocus. It basically comes down to one of those 3 cameras. I really want to just keep it with the smallest lenses possible, I'm really not trying to get into another system that has a ton of huge lenses.
The other great thing about the Nikon is that I could probably get way more for my money than with Sony or Fuji.
I'm still checking out all the sample video/photos and then looking for real world use. And I'm also waiting for the excitement stage to tone down a bit. Put up my Sigma lenses today, so hopefully I can sell those in the next month or so, but I'm still struggling with the fact of not having anything interesting to photograph around where I live. So budget wise I may just go with Nikon unless I find one of the other 2 cameras for an incredible deal.
Sidenote, I gave my nephew his Z30 today and I already miss it lol. But he seems to like it so far and now he starts his camera journey.

Pasonic didn't have a good selection of fast lenses
Panasonic have a whole range of excellent m43 lenses nowadays and of course there is Olympus, Voigtlander, and Laowa etc. All of which will fit and work on Panasonic.

Yea but I don't want a 4/3 camera. Got it narrowed down to 3 cameras now and just waiting to see which one I can find at an ok price.

These are contradictory statements. You haven’t tried Olympus and say you need to check it out. I guess you are not checking it out. Did you not realize Olympus/OM make only 43 cameras? Then you say you had a 43 camera but you seem to care more about people’s view of you than the actual camera, which you seem to have liked, although you found it “too restrictive” and 43 did not have enough lenses. I’m pointing out that you are wrong. There are plenty of lenses for m43.
I detect some confusion in your desires and thinking.

There are lots of options in the MFT, APS-C, and FF world that are smaller — including (as you note) some from Fujifilm. Maybe look at the XT5?

I think I finally settled on the Canon r7. It's still small, great selection of lenses and I can get the fringer and use the Canon lenses on my Fuji 50s ii.
Canon R7 seems like a great hybrid camera. Has just about everything I want, although I wish it had a ranger finder body instead of the ugly DSLR look to it but I can't have everything.
I have one person on another site and hoping that deal goes through or else I'll have to keep waiting.
