p.1 #1 · New to the ZF what are your dummy manual adapted lens settings?
As the post mentioned I’m curious what are your manual adapted settings? How do you setup your camera for the best way you shoot? I’ve seen some setting mentioned here and there but not as detailed as someone here could apply to their camera. Thanks for helping and older person out.

I walk through how to set up non-cpu lenses at the 7:08 mark here after you have all of your lenses set up, make sure you select the correct one when shooting it for best ibis performance.
You are limited to a single focus confirmation box size in MF mode so nothing to customize there.
I highly recommend making sure that the option to link VR to the focus point is disabled for the sharpest photos.
I am not a fan of using subject detection with manual focus, but that’s just my preference.
When using a dumb lens, you will need to use focus peeking, so ensure you place it on your imenu for quick access.
I leave my Z on sport VR mode all the time for better composition (no sensor jumping on shutter press).

Thank you so much this is really helpful. If I wanted to try subject detection with manual focus how would I got about it and if so how would I set up the punch in ability to fine tune critical focus? If possible at all.

Menu > Photo (top item) > scroll all the way down to AF/MF subject detection options (hit right on dpad or hit ok) > pick a subject. I think you can add this to MY MENU for quick access but don’t quote me.
Hitting the magnify button on the back of the camera will punch in. You can go all the way to 400%.
