Am having problems with calibration on this Keks M meter, and cannot find any online demo and my experience is not matching the manual. So, unsure whether it is me, or the meter I have here. Would love some help.
I cannot get into any page in the "menu" other than "compensation". When I press 1+2 to get to what I am assuming is the menu, I get the "compensation" screen, and what looks like at the bottom of that screen, a series of dots which might indicate there are other pages, one of which I assume would be the "calibration" page which would allow me to calibrate the meter. I cannot get to anything in the setting menu, which resembles the (reset > calibrate ss) which the short manual indicates I should be seeing. The only page I can get, no matter what combination of button pushes I have tried, is the "compensation" page. Once I am on that screen, how do I get off it and get to any other screen? Sounds simple, manual offers no clues.
Pressing 1+2 together gives you the menu, right? And the first screen there is for compensation, right? How do you get off that screen and on to the screen which says (reset > calibrate ss)?
The stock, out of the box meter, shows 1/50 and also 1/60. My M does not have 1/50 only 1/60, so if I can't get rid of 1/50 everything faster than that will be wrong.
Thanks. That at least gets me going in the right direction. I had tried that, but tried it again. Neither a short press, nor a long press did anything. Which was what I was doing before. But, after your suggestion, I found that a quick double presses on 3 moved the menu forward through the options until the end, which was "reset". Single presses did nothing.
But, when I get to "reset" that is all it says, it's just stuck there; there are no further button presses which brings one to "calibrate ss" and reset is only showing a back arrow.
When I am on the "reset' screen, no amount of button pushes will bring up the screen shown in the manual e.g. ("confirm calibrate, Shutter 1/2, yes or no). I can go forward and back on the menu pages, but that's all. All I can see are the titles of the 5 menu pages. None of the other ones will take me to anything past the title screen either. e.g. from the compensation menu screen, I cannot get to the actual compensation screen from which the 3 or 2 button would allow me to increase or decrease compensation.
Pressing button 1 when you've selected the setting you want (say Compensation) should go to the screen that allows you to adjust that setting. Then to return to the main settings page, you would move the shutter speed dial. Sounds like the buttons on your unit are acting up, or the firmware is screwed up.
Thank you, for the guidance. No, my button 1 will not bring up another screen in that situation.
I purchased mine as a preorder direct from Keks. I guess I need to figure out how to return it, as the return process seems not clear to me, yet.

I tried to cancel my chrome meter when I saw that I could have it within three days by ordering through B&H, but that didn’t fly with KEK, but they did respond, so I would suggest that you contact them directly with this issue. I believe that you will get a timely reply. I’ve have my black chrome unit, which is on my M-A and my chrome meter for my M3 has been shipped two months after ordering through KEK.
