These both are awesome Dan but tell two different stories to me. The first is vibrant and all about color and life, while the second is about the patterns and mood. I'd almost be tempted to crop the second one tighter on the flower to emphasize the pattern even more, but I tend to overdo that so don't go by me, heh.

Thanks Eric! I did crop much from both sides as the camera was full frame but up close(180mm macro). I agree with both your analysis as that is why I posted color and mono.
You input is always appreciated, as is any members! You may see something that I don't and at 78, it is eazy to miss much! Mentally or visually!

The day was overcast and the sunflower was brilliantly yellow and the center was striking both in geometry and light!
I had to do both for the exact reasons mentioned above!

At least for me, I find that converting a color image to monochrome gives much better results than just b&w. In post. you can adjust every color separately giving you total control of tonal range.

You are 100% correct Rolando! I seem to group any color conversion as a "b&w conversion" versus a mono conversion. I should rectify that anomoly!
