Very nice I like the 1st and 2nd most. The mountain ranges of the west coast are so majestic compared to what we out east.
Thanks.
I count myself lucky to live close to the Sierra… and the redwoods, the Pacific Ocean, Central Valley migratory birds… and all the big city stuff of the SF Bay Area.
Those photos come from the Yosemite high country in and around Tuolumne meadows, and the peaks and forests and lakes are like old friends at this point since I’ve gone there for decades.

Wonderful work, Dan! I've faved a few of these on Flickr too. That was a very productive trip for you!
Thanks!
The secret is that all of my “daily photos” show up on Flickr well before they appear on my blog and elsewhere. Why? It is a long story. The only downside to viewing them there is that the accompanying text often still needs editing — sometimes a lot of editing!
About the “daily photos” thing: For twenty years I have posted a new photograph every day at my website (gdanmitchell.com), accompanied by a couple of paragraphs of description and background.

Wow, what a great series. I also really admire your knowledge of conditions… of course, the magic is in what you do with that.
Special shout out for Tufa Tower, it’s so unusual.

A very nice series! Thanks for showing it
Thanks to both of you.
I’m kind of fond of that tufa shot. I’ve photographed there many times, but this one was a bit of an afterthought. I was a Mono Lake mainly to photograph a different subject, and it was only after the morning light was passing and I finished that subject that I took a walk down to the shoreline. By then the light was quite bright, but with a bit of haze obscuring distant features…and the black and white rendition seemed to work well with it.
