Cosina released APO-Lanthar 50mm F2 for E-mount in 2019 and VM in 2021. Also 21/1.4, 21/3.5 (discontinued in E) and 40/1.2 came out first in E and then in VM the following year. 10mm came out a little earlier on E as well. 12mm V3 came out first in E and a few months later in VM. There are also Septon 40/2 and Portrait Heliar 75/1.8 that don't exist in VM although Heliar classic 75/1.8 VM is the original with same base optical design (not quite the same lens though).
The E-mount versions provide focusing distance info which enables 5-Axis IBIS instead of 3 and lens correction (distortion, CA, vignetting compensation) info in EXIF that can be utilized (optionally) in addition to the sensor stack optimization....Show more →
Thanks for the clarification, Juha.
So, for now, the best alternative to the 90/2 Apo Lanthar—which doesn't exist yet—is the Viltrox 85/2 EVO FE I mentioned previously
Right now, the FE version costs € 220 in Germany!

If you are happy with 24MP, then the Nikon ZF will generally be the best body.
Why best? What about a Z5II ? The latter is a modern-style body with a deep, comfortable handgrip, has dual full-size UHS-II SD card slots, dedicated focus joystick, and supports internal 12-bit N-RAW video recording. Z5II is even cheaper.

How does it perform on Zf?
Any effect of the thicker sensor stack?
Thanx.

The Leica? It's one of those lenses which actually perform quite well on the Z sensor stack. Of course not as good as on a Leica M camera but still very good imho. It's not a fast lens, maybe that is the secret sauce? Anyway, I'm quite happy with the performance, the haptics, and the size/weight, so that I regularly throw it into the bag.

Please, don't stop tempting me. Sooner or later I'll place the order
Am I mistaken, or are you using the 50/2 APO and 90/2.8 APO SL IIs along with the 28/2 APO?

This week I did, yes. I own all three but I also combine them with other lenses depending on what I want to shoot and I mostly use the 90mm on F-mount cameras. But they make a nice set.
