........ I was younger and could pack all my gear on my back, hike over rough terrain, set up a blind, and sit in that blind for hours taking photos of Bald Eagles bathing.
Excessive movement of my lens sticking out of the blind, or the sound of the camera's shutter would at times be enough to spook the eagles to fly away.
When they are bathing, the eagles are even more skittish when seeing humans because they are often soaking wet or even up to their necks in the water. This makes it even more difficult for them to take off when they perceive danger.

Great set - I missed it the first time, so appreciate the repost. I'm certainly in the same boat - hauling my overnight gear + camera + lenses + tripod to the top of a local mountain to shoot sunset/rise is much harder than it used to be!

I remember the old 7D and the old push-pull 100-400
Modern technologically superior mirrorless cameras and lenses are so much better ........... .
