Of course not I've read 3 or 4 different reviews and they vary. I would use it on my R100 for a 26mm lens. It would make a nice street camera setup. Not too concerned about the corners on a crop camera.

My copy is decent. I use it on my R6II without any issues, and it is sharp un the corners at f4. I haven't used it on my R7 since I got a Tamron 11-20mm f2.8 for it.
I bought one a year or so ago refurb for $179. It's a neat little lens to throw in the bag. Used it for some African landscapes and seems to be fine once run through LrC. It's smaller than a 2x TC, and I just stick it in the bag with the TCs.

I think it comes down to expectations. I've noticed what people find acceptbaly sharp to vary considerably from person to person.
My copy is nowehere near as sharp as the RF14-35mm, but I can slip it in my smallest camera bag as a bonus lens, and its incredibly cheap. I found the reviews on the-digital-picture.com and opticallimits.com matched my experience - the centre is sharp, the corners are not. How that will effect you depends on your use case. For my purposes the lens is "acceptably sharp" given the alternative is either not having a 16mm on me or taking a larger, heavier bag. This is on a R6II - I imagine the situation is worse on an R5.
