Yes, I feel the same way. By the way, I just noticed that I often write "sharpness," but actually mean "resolution."

On 24-33MP the Voigtlander 40 1.2 and 50 1.2 is a perfect lens if you can live with MF. Stopped down to f4 excellent sharp, even at f2 is enough, and you have 1.2 background separation in small size. However on 60MP, I'd pick the APO line instead.

Also you don't need 60MP for those kind of lenses. You may use them on 60MP if you have a high resolution lens also. I had 50 1.2GM, best lens I ever owned, however I don't need 60MP resolution with an f1.2 lens, I miss cheaper, smaller f1.2 AF lenses with less correction (for size and price cut).
?
I don't think it matters much if you have a 33, 42, 50 or 60 MP sensor here. With the Voigtländer 40/1.2 and 50/1.2 you get what you get and the sensor resolution abilities doesn't matter much at f71.2-f71.6 (approximately) and perhaps also not at f/2.
Picking the APO instead, as mentioned above, will give you a totally other kind of image regardless of sensor used.
You also don't have to have a high resolution lens for having fun with any of the f/1.2 lenses set to large openings.
I think I understand the point you are trying to do, I just want to make some things less absolute sort of speaking.

When i write sharpness I am thinking of something undefined but usually seen by most people. Like in "Oh, what a sharp image". When writing resolution I think we really should specify what we mean. Perhaps something like "when measuring in the center at 40 lp/mm we get 60% contrast".
Yes, it's easier to write sharpness. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't mean anything at all (to me).
Blindly looking at the examples in the first post, I found the Zeiss Loxia and Batis to have the most distracting backgrounds. Although tbh, all these lenses are nice, there are no wrong choices.
