I have both a Zeiss Batis 85, and a 85F1.8S. Yes I know the Batis is older and it still delivers but the S lens is superior. It’s sharper, AF is faster. Too bad it’s bigger and heavier. Nikons S lenses are fantastic. It wouldn’t be worth the money to buy Zeiss glass for Z mount.

I think that's probably true for the 85 and 25, since there are very solid S lenses competing at those focal lengths, but the Batis 18/2.8 (light, takes filters, very robust with low distortion), 40/2 CF (huge improvement over the pancake 40, focuses closer than the 50/1.8S), and the APO-Sonnar 135/2.8 (lighter than either the Plena or the 70-200/2.8S and competitive at like apertures, an optical improvement over the 70-180/2.8 and still a bit lighter) offer something different that's worthwhile given the relatively low used prices.

I love my Zeiss glass, I bought the Megadap adapter so I could use my Batis lenses on my ZF. I am also enjoying adapting vintage Zeiss glass to Z mount. I would love them to bring out AF native glass though...
