I got there and had to wait for the sun to go behind the trees and kids not to be playing in the water so I could take a picture. Wanted to try out my new Z 14-24 f/2.8 S Lens with the 112mm Kase Magnetic filters. Only had a polarizer on it for this picture. I know a frame can be added is there a way to preview it before posting it?

Very nice. I shoot a lot down there and have photographed Cedar Falls more than I care to admit. This area around the falls doesn’t actually change that much in the fall, though. There are a few splashes of color, but it’s not dramatically different. Flow, of course, is quite variable at any time of year.

I really enjoy looking at your pictures! I’ve spent more time than I care to admit looking at your photos and getting ideas for future pictures! You’re a very talented photographer!!
I was around Columbus Thursday trying out my new lens. I really want to get up around Cleveland for sure sometime this year.
Mike!

I will do that thanks Jim I went back and forth. There was no crop on the photo. But sense then I have 2 family members that want a copy. I was probably going to use MPIX and have a few made and sent to them.
Unless someone could recommend some place better??

Nice work, perfect soft light. I might crop down a bit to loose that bit of white sky that draws the eye.

Nice shot. I spent three weeks in Lancaster for work a few years back and have done a few projects in that area of Ohio, but never made it to Hocking Hills. It was bitterly cold while I was there and I was spending my days outside, so I didn't have much desire to venture out on the weekends.

After he mentioned it it became real obvious. I was worried about not leaving enough head room. Here is the Cropped version. Appreciate the feedback!!!! And checking it out!

Original, excellent capture, Mike, I do agree though with Jim about cropping some off the top.

Nice shot! ~been there 9 times since 2017.. if you haven't been check out The Rock House and Conkle's Hollow gorge trail. Conkles Hollow is like being on another planet. also Hocking Hills is great in the winter when all the waterfalls are frozen. (ice cleats are needed) they had some heavy rains recently and everything was flooded out for awhile.

Yes I called the park office and they told me about the flooding and I guess they had 1 fatality. It's a 2hr drive for me so I was just checking they had water flowing over the falls which she said they did. I will check those out for sure thanks!

your 14-24 would be perfect for both the Rock House and Conkle's Hollow. you will want to bracket your shots with the Rock House its pretty dark inside it.. I took these with my 15 mm lens
Conkles Hollow is an easy hike The Rock house is easy to get to but steep going back up

Thanks for the ideas!!! I had a heck of a time as no cell service. So I downloaded an offline map so I will still be able to navigate. Great looking Pictures!!! Checking out your flickr page now 😎

Thanks so much!
Agree that Rock House and Conkles Hollow are great. I find that at Hocking Hills one of the keys is to get out early before the crowds get there. I usually start shooting just before sunrise and I generally get about 2 hours of shooting before people start causing issues.
Some shots from Rock House:
Conkles Hollow:
And also a good place, if the water flows, is Ash Cave.
