p.1 #1 · A7c ii vs A7c , did anyone compared both?
Hi ,Ive been using the original a7c and like it a lot , yesterday I had a chance to grab the a7c2 and I like the new grip.
I will also benefit from the better video specs.
Did anyone make a direct comparison?
My questions are :
Did you noticed some kind of IQ loss ? maybe DR loss ? I see in this video that the colors are a bit different . is there a chance that the first a7c has beter colors ?

Here is the video , check 5:44 for example :
Any other downgrades I should know about?
Thanks
I have had both cameras and now have the A7CR, with which I am very happy. I certainly never noticed any loss in color IQ or any other disadvantages compared to the A7C. As you know, the A7CR has the same sensor as the A7RV, which is Sony's top-performing IQ camera and much praised for its IQ and colors. I would check your settings if you continue to see a proble. I don't shoot video, however, so I can't comment about changes in the video performance.

The A7Cll has the same 33MP sensor as the A74. It's a very nice sensor and personally I think it's at the sweet spot. Plus the A7Cll has the control wheel on the grip which is very handy.

I shot with the A7C for years and have just got an A7C ii. First impressions are that the AF is incredible, much more sticky for EyeAF, and that it is noticeably sharper - higher MP and weaker/no AA filter. Dynamic steadyshot in video with improved AF is incredibly impressive. Also just much more modern interface and noticeably faster. Lovely, lovely camera.

Thanks. Can you please take the same shot with both and link? It will help a lot...

TRDL;
+ AF
+ Control wheel
+ EVF
- Battery life
I also had the A7c for a couple of years and now use the cII. Here are my main things...
The AF is amazing on cII for sure (something I personally never really benefit from, shooting 99% static things, mostly with manual focus lenses, and if using an AF lens, with spot AF-S only) which comes at the cost of noticably shorter battery life. I want to say the battery life was better on the previous model even when I use MF only.
Also the extra control wheel that for me means I now don't need to shy away from using lenses without an aperture ring. With my A7c I would never use one, and I still much prefer a lens with one, but can now use any lens without annoyances.
And the EVF with its slightly larger magnification now, which is.. nice. My take on the EVF hasn't changed from the A7c though – I have no issues using either and I think both are fine for practical use, including for MF, and it's only when comparing to other cameras that the A7c/cII ones look bad. I wear glasses, maybe that's why. When switching to my Fujifilm X-T3 though, I certainly appreciate the difference.
Bonus points: I prefer the texture/feel of the grip area on the cII. The new meny is way better, especially the "My Menu" option.

Having had both (not simultaneously) and a current A7Cii shooter, price/features/ergonomics are the deciders for me. I couldn’t stand usability of the A7C though I wanted to love the form factor (thus why I bought and sold a few times). I sold my A7Riv after trying the A7Cii. I miss a bit of resolution for cropping flexibility but I don’t shoot jpeg and colors seem fine with my raw workflow (use cobalt profiles).

I just looked at a bunch of videos comparing the a7iii to the a7iv and I seem to like the a7iii files better....they tend to show more pink in the skintones ,same as the a7c and a7cr I think. But the a7cii and a7iv tend to be more yellow-green ...
Am I the only one who is seeing this? or maybe Im just used to my footage so much...
I know it is just click away in Capture one , but to do it in every image....
