Does anyone know if you have to buy Kase magnetic step up rings or can you use regular step up rings and install the Kase inlaid mangetic rings?

I have Kase Wolverine step up rings which screw into different lenses so the threads must be standard. As long as the extra thickness of the step up ring plus the inlaid magnetic ring doesn't cause vignetting, I don't see an issue.
