p.1 #5 · Sony GM and Voigtlander Lenses Used in "F1: The Movie"
I'm on Maui right now with the CV15 & A7cR in hand, always delivers in places like this. Especially for sunset. Guy's "choppy v2" makes it even better from a form-factor standpoint. Great potential in a small package overall.
Set to infinity it's basically a point and shoot, everything is in focus, even things fairly close to you.
If you find a sharp copy to me it's a great bargain assuming you will utilize the focal length.
Here's a behind-the-scenes video along with a few screenshots I captured from it:
I could be wrong but I don’t think those cameras with the GM lenses were used to shoot the movie. The one with the telephoto is from the Netflix documentary „drive to survive“ (also says Netflix on the camera). Also the guy with the Sony on the Ronin doesn’t look he’s shooting for cinema -probably BTS or the Netflix documentary (or even normal F1 coverage, although I think he’d be wearing a headset then).
My guess is they were used on the set, but not used for shooting the actual movie.
The Voigtlander lens is different of course, that looks like it was used in the movie (and in Top Gun, as pointed out above). Although there are also reports about a custom-built Apple camera for some of those shots.

Very cool.
Just saw this Instagram reel interviewing the 1st AC, sharing a little more info on the custom Sony camera rig mounted on the cars: https://www.instagram.com/p/DLkU98VxHwL/

At 4:05 in Matti Haapoya's interview, Claudio Miranda mentions Voigtlander and Loxia lenses, selected for their size & weight. Both Voigtlander and Loxia are visible in some of the behind the scenes videos.
"According to Miranda, Voigtlander and ZEISS Loxia lenses were used on the compact Sony camera prototypes to stay extra small, also with the lens packages while shooting."
