BEAUTIFUL Brent!!!
We have been under a massive "heat dome" for 4 days. Heat indexes in the 105-114 range!!
We could use the rain..the weather "guessers" say tonight! We will see!
Great capture!

Thanks much, Dan. It's been the same here. When I shot this the temperature was in the 90s and the high humidity made it very uncomfortable.

That is impressive! Very few people out and about. Small town feel to it.
Thank you, Jon. Interestingly, there was a huge crowd of several thousand people just behind me. We have a weekly music event here called Concerts On The Square which is extremely popular. Our chamber orchestra performs and there's always a theme for which outside entertainers are brought in. This week it was "Motown Music," and a very talented group from Las Vegas was here. People were dancing in the streets-- even with the high heat and humidity.

Well we never got the thunderstorms that the "weather guessers" said we would Brent! Massive 30-40, 000ft thunderheads that dropped "liquid sunshine" all around us!
We went from 105F yesterday to 65F today!!! I was out very early this morning shooting wall murals and shops in the littel town near me. Felt good to get out and walk and not be drenched in sweat!!
"Hell" returns tomorrow! Come on Fall-Winter!!
Stay cool my brother!

Great shot! I like the processing very much - something of a Tri-X feel. Got me to thinking what it would have taken to get that exact shot on film back in the day. Correct verticals - requiring keystone correction & hence a view camera or done in printing resulting in loss of DOF. Shot from the middle of the street - not so easy with the view camera... Also while getting the timing right with 1 person right in the middle of the street. Difficult exposure & tonal control to not blow highlights and still get high contrast in the clouds - not so easy to do with a "grab" shot. Not forgetting to put the red filter on the lens.

Thanks very much. You're quite right about the difficulty of doing this on film. I don't think I'd have even tried. There are some definite advantages to the digital format.
