p.1 #1 · Grizzlies of Yellowstone...and Grand Teton
I was in YS and GT the third week of May. This was my eighth trip to these amazing parks, I've been there in all seasons. Spring is my favorite though, with all the babies out and about and hungry (active) wildlife. People ask me why I keep going back, and it is simple...these parks never disappoint. Each trip is different, all are amazing. This trip was very cold, 25 degrees most mornings, and we had some snow. And, it was bear week. The brown and black bears were very active in both parks. As a guess I'd say I saw at least 25 individual bears. Moms with cubs were prevalent, but there were boars and individual females around as well. Here are some grizzly shots from the trip. All were taken with my 600mm tc, many with the tc engaged. Guess what....I'm going back next May!

The cubs were fun to watch, especially the one playing with his feet. The first picture is a cool one, I guess it's just how the 600tc rendered the surrounding sage at long distance (tc was engaged, so the shot was taken at 840mm).
Learle, you should go back, and absolutely go to GTNP as well. Heck, looks like you are in Reno, it's only a 725 mile day drive!
