A small update for the Zf is made available today with following change
Changes from C Firmware Version 2.01 to 2.02
Updated some guidance texts displayed on the camera when connecting to the Nikon Imaging Cloud service (the connection procedure itself remains unchanged).
Do not update the camera firmware with lenses other than Z-mount NIKKOR lenses or mount adapters other than FTZ II/FTZ attached; failure to observe this precaution could result in camera malfunction.
IPTC Presets
Performing this update from a C firmware version 1.21 or earlier will delete IPTC presets in the camera. This is an intended consequence of improvements to IPTC presets. Users who intend to continue using existing presets will need to copy them to a memory card using [IPTC] > [Load/save] > [SD card slot]/[microSD card slot] > [Copy to card] in the [SETUP MENU] before performing the update. The saved presets can be loaded from the memory card using [IPTC] > [Load/save] > [SD card slot]/[microSD card slot] > [Copy to camera] once the update is complete.
Note that IPTC presets cannot be loaded if menu settings were saved to a memory card using [Save/load menu settings] > [Save menu settings] in a camera with a C firmware version 1.21 or earlier and loaded to the camera using [Save/load menu settings] > [Load menu settings] after performing this update. Be sure to copy and load the IPTC presets individually via the method described above.

Well that was a scare to read.
I finally got around to updating from 2.0 to 2.02 and decided to try the Nikon Cloud route - it worked a charm, couldn't have been easier.
The scare was that I did the update with my Zeiss Batis and Megadap adapter attached. Everything seems OK so I might have got away with it. I don't own any Z mount glass so will have to remember just to do future updates with no lens attached.
