Wow I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted on here…
Anyway.
So I have a plethora of external flash pieces of equipment and I am starting to delve into using the iPhone for a lot more personal photo shoots.
But when I keep looking online and put in the two words “iPhone” and “Flash” I get about 4 billion hits back about the stupid flashlight and its intensity.
Can the iPhone flash actually trigger external flashes or am I going to have to “hack” something in order for it to happen?
Do any of your current strobes have an optical receiver? If so, they can see that a flash is firing from a camera and will trigger. Of course then you’re stuck with your iPhone as “on camera flash.”
Try searching "Using external flash with iphone"
I think the short answer is you can't simply sync or time your existing xenon flashes with the iphone camera.
