Taking a shot in the dark here. Would anyone happen to know the location of this shot with the building and who the photographer was? My grandson ran across several prints from this photographer in a thrift store. Some were signed , some were not. He is curious about who it might be. He thinks the saxophonist is Stan Getz.

The sax player might be Stan Getz. There's a possibility the photographer might be Pete Turner, but that's only a guess. Turner photographed Getz a number of times and had this interesting album cover shot of him in the early 60s.

Herman Leonard's era for the photo if Getz, and Art Deco inset maybe NY or Detroit. Is there a close up of the signature with higher res? Should be able to decipher the fastest. The Salvation Army woman with the trombone a beautiful portrait thought.

Hey Birdie, I ran the images through Google image search and did not come up with much, except that first image appears to be ornamental art on the outside of the Philadelphia Art Museum:

Could it be Bob Gomel and he shortened his name later before he became famous for his LIFE magazine photos?

That was just a guess given the signature and that the name looks vaguely German. It was not unheard of for people with German sounding names to alter them during World War II. I have no knowledge that he did so and he probably didn't.

Quick question birdie...are those "dotted i(eyes)'s? I have not had any luck and my music photographer friend hasn't either.
Do you have any more info on where these were found? Exact town, neighborhood, any other photos he saw? What thrift store and where?
The Salvation Army woman has a very familiar face for both my friend and I. I can't place her.
Will keep investigating!
Any addtl info would help.
