I supposed to get the Sigma 300–600mm F/4 around May 15 but they kept delaying it and now, they won’t be able to ship it by July. I don’t understand why they confirmed and even promised a shipping date of April 22 or May 15, especially since I had planned to use it for travel starting in late July.
According to what they told me, they’re facing supply issues due to slow production, hand-assembled, Sony 400/600GM grade build quality and complexity, limited stock, tariffs, and high demand. In June, Sigma USA only received 5~10 lenses which is insane. Since they have to fulfill hundreds of orders from camera stores first, I have no chance of getting mine anytime soon. Tho I did reach out to Sigma Japan and they’re looking into what they can do, since my case is somewhat unique.
Ironically, some people who pre-ordered later than I did already received their lenses! And some stores even have them in stock. It’s frustrating that I can’t order from other retailers due to some complications as I directly ordered to Sigma. Still, I understand some stores that took pre-orders on day 1 didnt received any units.
At this point, I only have a few weeks left before I travel and my plans are completely wrecked because Sigma failed to deliver the lens on time despite their promises. While I might wait a few more weeks, I’m seriously consider getting Sony 200–600mm for a moment for traveling unless I get Sigma 300-600mm F/4 on time. I honestly can’t believe they’ve delayed it multiple times and still haven’t been able to fulfill orders or maybe I’m just shocked by how many people want the Sigma 300–600mm F/4.
Is anyone else still waiting for the Sigma 300–600mm F/4?
I can’t say I’m surprised by the popularity of the lens. It’s less than half the price of the Sony, yet more complex. I suspect they only released a limited number to the US assuming that the tariffs would impact sales, but even with the extra cost the lens offers amazing value for money compared to the native glass.
If I had the money I would buy this in a heartbeat.

That's unfortunate, I got mine I think May 26, but I basically pre ordered it as soon as it was live (maybe like 20 minutes after the announcement and b&h opened up pre order).
Maybe try your luck and ask b&h what it looks like over there? But I doubt they will have any.
On a related but unrelated note, Sony's a1 ii is still out of stock at b&h.

For now, I'll wait for Sigma Japan to bring some news in a few weeks and see how it goes cause I really needed it the most. Otherwise, I have to wait till the end of this year.

Fingers crossed for you. Hopefully Sigma will work it out without issue, because it is a beautiful zoom.

Hopefully you will get it in time for your trip.
I hope so but truth be told, highly unlikely as Sigma America has to fulfill all orders to camera stores which is hundreds of them but I'm trying to request them to change the priority by all means necessary.
B&H is the worst place to go, because everyone lazily goes there. Approach smaller shops. I got a a1ii last week and only ordered a few days before

Discounts dont mean much if you can't use it on the trip because you don't have it.
I am aware of that but it's a huge discount that you can not imagine and ignore. Besides, I dont really spend a lot of money on used lens even if it has been used for once.

Sadly, Sigma can not ship it on time so I have to delay my order and wait till next year. In the meantime, I'll need to get Sony 200-600mm instead.
Wow, that's rough. I hate having to wait for a camera/lens in shipping let alone when it's delayed to the point you have to wait at least another 6 months. Sorry to hear that.
