Neat plant! Nothing like a freebie! Love the color.

I couldn't help notice how much it looked like a hibiscus except the pistols and vertical stalk, etc,l, so I looked it up...hollyhock (Alcea rosea) is a member of the hibiscus family, the same family to which cotton and okra belong.

Now, I fully get hibiscus since that is why I looked it up in the first place, but cotton and okra kind of blew my mind. I learn something new every day here.

Very attractive plant. I agree with Eric the flowers are very similar to hibiscus yet the growth pattern is very different. Great detail and exposure in your photo John.
