There's a nearby stream in the mountains that usually has a Spotted Sandpiper or two hanging around the gravelly riverbank. Today I stopped by and found... two chicks! They were so tiny I missed them at first as they ran around over the rocks. I was so focused on photographing the adult that I didn't even realize there were chicks there until one of them strolled into the viewfinder! They were kind of adorable as they bobbed their tails up and down just like mom & dad. And those feet!
Too cute! Nice work Dave, I like the soft backgrounds to go with the downy chicks. Yeah, unlike moorhen chicks (no quite so cute), but they do have the oversized feet to grow into also.
