It's getting hot out here and I decided a trip up the mountain was warranted. It was 108 at the start of the drive and mid 70's by the time I got to the top of Mount Lemmon. I found a nice easy hike right at the top. I'll be back for many more shots, but here are some from this weekend though).
#1: I stopped immediately to shoot this as soon as I saw it. I wasn't sure whether I wanted color or B&W. Something about the color stuck with me (I think it was the color of the unburnt wood against the blue sky with the green ferns). At the same time I knew it would work in B&W too, so I shot an IR version of the shot. I didn't have my F-mount glass with me (I find the F-mount glass has way tamer hot spots on the Z series cameras than the newer Z glass... don't know if it's a new coating thing or what), so I had to make due with what I had. I definitely needed to massage it in photoshop to deal with the hot spots. Here's the color shot:
#2: and here's the IR version
#3: and here's a shot, taken through the trees along the trail.
There are some phenomenal views looking out off of the mountain on this trail too, but no real dramatic clouds/light on this day, so I'll definitely be back. I'm curious what you guys prefer between the first two shots. As always CC are greatly appreciated.
