A college asked me if I could to these sports events and mug shots.
Here are the sports; Volleyball, BasketBall, Badminton, Flag Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, Swimming and Soccer
For the mug shots (head shots), it's going to be ok.
Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and Swimming will be held in interior.
So I would use Canon R5 and my Canon 70-200m f2.8 (the swimming pool is an half olympic pool)
That should be ok.
For the Flag Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee and Soccer; they will be held on an exterior soccer field.
I will have to shoot by day and by evening during the summer time.
The soccer field is not lit, as we suspect, like an MLS field.
As I said, I have Canon R5 bodies and I got a Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM (not the Sports one)
I will be able to shoot by days with my Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3
But I'm not sure about the evening events, starting around 7HPM
But can I shoot, at least part of the game, to get good action images? At the beginning of the match?
I know that with the R5, I can increase the ISO to 8000 and even 10000 easily.
Let me know what you think. Any comment will be appreciated.

I cannot speak to the ISO of the R5, but please note the electronic shutter read speed results in some rolling shutter in action scenarios. One downside of that lens in addition to the small aperture could be focus speed. You may want to test it out at some sporting events this summer to make sure it's up to par.
The focal length of 150mm - 600mm is perfect for soccer though. If the sun is still up, I would think you'll be fine, but you may be hurting for light otherwise.

I just checked your profile? Do you have both an R5 and an R5 mk II? Use the R5 mk II or 1DX mk II if possible. That is your best bet for rolling shutter free images.
Depending on budge, a 200-400 f/4 may be a good idea too.
While ƒ4 lenses work on NFL lit fields, they generally struggle on many fields that are not that well lit. AF acquisition speed for fast action sports is important. In order to support a shutter minimum of 1000 & more likely 1250-1600 the ISO level will jump to 16,500 - 25,600. Low evening light and ƒ5-6.3 lenses... would not be my choice if under contract to shoot sports. JMTC
