This is a semi abandoned south bay area city that originated as a transportation hub for the south bay, then up until sometime in the early 60’s used to be an SF bay shrimping and sardine processing city; hence the canning business. Its name is Alviso. The Leslie Salt company now manages the salt flat in the picture, and Alviso proper is really now just a point of historical interest. It’s current industry is hotels and office buildings near the 49ers stadium and surrounding Silicon Valley tech companies, plus a few restaurants that serve the same area.
