I have video project to film wildlife within a tropical beach resort. My main setup will be 200-600 for all distant wildlife. For second setup which would be more suitable for things like reptiles, amphibians, insects, crab on the beach Sony 70-200 gm ii + 1.4x or 90mm macro?

My vote goes to the 70-200/4GII. 1:2 at all focal lengths and the same AF system found in the GMII. It's great with small things.

Depends on whats the smallest subject right,

A 1x macro (90 Macro) can fill full frame with a 24mm subject

A 0.5x lens (70-200/4G2) can fill full frame with a 48mm subject

A 0.42x lens (70-200GMii + 1.4xTC) can fill full frame with a 57mm subject

A 0.3x lens (70-200GMii) can fill full frame with a 80mm subject
