There was a lovely cool yet damp breeze coming off the water in Oceanside, NY. Smoke from the wild fires in Canada was high in the sky resulting in lovely soft light. As the day was starting to heat up I found this willet in a dead tree. I decided to photograph it and expected it to fly as people were coming up the trail in the other direction. I got more than I expected.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
