p.1 #1 · Upgrading from a Philips 49" Ultrawide - Dell?

Hello,

Been using a Philips 499P9 49" 32:9 ultra wide for a couple of years since it's been great for working from home. But I think it is less than ideal for image editing; the color accuracy is likely less than stellar but more importantly I think the aspect ratio doesn't work so great for me. It feels like I could use a little more vertical space here.

Was ogling the Dell UltraSharp U4025QW which is still a decent size screen but gives me a little more height, higher resolution and it seems to be highly rated for color accuracy for image editing. Anyone here have experience with this one? Or any suggestions on other monitors I might want to consider?

Will be using it with a Mac Studio.

thanks!

Well I love mine and feel like it's color accurate enough to not purchase a colorimeter. If your on a M1 studio (maybe M2 as well) you'll be limited to 60 hertz refresh (unless you use Betterdisplay to inject a modified profile to get 100 hertz. When I upgraded to the M4 studio I was pleasantly surprised to get 120 hertz natively.... It's nice to have Lightroom and Photoshop open side by side with not bezel interference when using two displays...I find the HiDPI resolution of 3840 x 1620 to be very very close to retina clarity. No complaints from me coming from studio displays....

I _think_ the M2 Max works at 120 out of the box, not 100% sure though. Glad to hear you are enjoying it! Right now considering this one as well as the Dell 43" 16:9.
