It was February 2003 in central Indiana and it had been very cold and snowy for several days. We were experiencing a brief warmup period before another round of cold temperatures was to set in. I looked outside my (then) studio window and saw this particular ice formation hanging from the roof and gutters. I quickly grabbed a black cloth background and hung it on a stand behinds this formation. I grabbed one strobe light, mounted a small softbox on it and mounted it on a light stand. It was rush hour at the time and I know I looked pretty weird out there taking photographs of a hunk of ice. Yea?......and?? Color provided by experimentation in Photoshop during post production.
