I spend a lot of time in Yellowstone, when I am not leading photo safaris - about six months a year. This year I was fortunate to watch this pair of grizzlies mate over the course of 4 days. It was really interesting behavior, much like humans, he would show interest in her, and she would show no interest, then after not getting attention, she would go over to him and show interest and then he would not show interest. I did see them mate a few times, so I guess that method worked. For reference if you see the red ear tag, that is the male. Enjoy.
That is an amazing set of images, stuff that I guess very few people get an opportunity to see. Animals behavior is so interesting. .i have only seen a couple of bears in the wild so these are super interesting. Off to Alaska next week to photograph the brown bears so these images are very timely.
