Well, I guess they have to grow up sometime, and it was a delight to see them show up today once more for some corn. The little buck is going through some changes. As delightful as the changes are to see, it doesn’t bode well for his future. Such a shame.
I’m certain this is the pair that I have photographed throughout the year and posted here over time. They’re always together which I think is uncommon because I have another young buck starting to develop and he’s a loner. I do get many opportunities to photograph them, but I just don’t want to disturb them and would rather let them eat in peace.
I do hope you enjoy them. They are so gentle and beautiful and such a joy to have around.

Nice grouping of sweet family moments Terry.
Looks like you caught the family out for a stroll, hitting the buffet salad bar to graze a bit and then off for a siesta.
Eric
Morning Eric. It amazes me how close they must watch me because when I go out and put the corn out sometimes within minutes of me getting back to the house, they’re out there eating. I usually cut up some apples into quarters and throw them out there for them too. Nothing like a good balanced diet.
Glad to see you have these guests as continued company Terry. Really nice images from your low POV. On a sad note I have never seen so many road kill deer in our area as I have this season. Things are out of balance. Hope your family finds safety and happiness in the wooded areas

Hi Karl. We’re on the same wavelength Karl. I went into my doctor in Lakewood the other day and could not believe the young dear dead along the road over towards North Olmsted. What a shame.
I recently was fortunate enough to add 7 mostly wooded acres to my property now totaling 37 acres which includes another 250 feet of the Vermillion river and a thickly wooded ravine. Hopefully this gives them a little more protected range around me. It is heavily hunted out here so I’ve attempted to give them a little more safe haven. That is hard to do these days because there is little respect for private property anymore. But we do the best we can to help these lovely creatures survive.
Thank you Karl for stopping by and your kind words.
