As a CEO ... did you refrain from all expenses associated with the quality of life for your employees? Many expenses associated with documentation, don't return a direct income producing ROI, either ... and, I'm sure, that as a 35 year CEO, you can think of plenty of others ... philanthropy, etc.
I mean, just because it doesn't directly produce income, doesn't mean it isn't an asset that produces an ROI. The "return" can come in a variety of forms, where direct income $$$ return isn't the only measure, or form of a valuable ROI.
How valuable is something that provides joy ... imo, it stands a reasonable chance of beating the value of something that "pi$$e$" you off.
