But something happens
When you reach a certain age
Particularly to to those ones,
that are young at heart
It´s a lonely proposition when you realize
That there´s less days in front of the horse
Than riding in the back of this cart

Admittedly a bit of a humble brag but with a twist . . .
What may be the most successful camera of my career lies ignominiously on the trash heap waiting for the dumpster to arrive next week.
Moving for what I hope is the last time, after 71 yrs of life, 22 in Sedona, a downsizing reckoning has been upon us.
Too damn much shit to keep toting around, what to keep, what to donate, what to trash has been more than crazy-making. It’s a journey thru a graced life well lived, with some tough choices.
At this point, little more than a still functioning camera/memorabilia paper weight. It’s a bit sad but it also engenders a tremendous gratitude for all the luck, serendipity, and hard work.
Here’s the first, the last, and some very important ones in between.
Ha, and I was just processing some images from my first ever visit to Sedona and now you're going to leave?
Canon 1DIII? ........I loved that camera, actually was given to me to use by a dear friend when financial strain from a collapsed economy hit me hard and I had to sell all my stuff. That camera brings back a good vibe from a rough time, hate to see it trashed!!
You have so many outstanding images from that area, where to now??
My best wishes for this next move and part of life
Karl
I just donated a bunch of DSLR gear to my local high school who has a Graphic Design and Photography class, they were very excited to get what would be considered obsolete on this forum. Might be something to look into.
good luck with your move and pray everything goes well in the days and weeks ahead. hang onto some gear. you never can tell when the yearning to get out and take a few pictures will happen. thanks for sharing.

Thank you kindly for the well wishes.
Still working almost full-time commercially chasing landscapes, portraits, product, & shooting two magazines' worth of images annually as the Staff Photographer at Tlaquepaque Arts & Culture Village. I can't imagine I'll stop before I drop!
Canon R5, full compliment of R-mount L lenses, legacy EOS lenses with adapter, an entire kit of Godox speedlight, studio flashes & modifiers, . . . I still got plenty to lug around!
Gosh...that brought back memories of a time when I finally had to leave my 13-year old Labrador home as I walked out the door with a new puppy. Kinda' broke both of our hearts.
