The wife and I took a week-long trip to Yosemite in late January. Got lucky with weather because it snowed quite a bit the first two days, and had some decent skies to photograph as well. Beautiful place!!! We stayed at the Yosemite Valley Lodge which was great because it really cut down on our driving time. One of the better shooting locations was right behind the hotel, can't get much more convenient!!! Had a great time, shot about 1300 pics.

Rat - we got REALLY lucky with that.....we had been to Tunnel View several times during the week but I never got anything that knocked me out.....this one was taken the morning we were leaving, AS we were leaving.
IndyFab - thank you sir!!! #1 is actually my favorite, but #2 is a close second.
hm2008 - thanks, and you're welcome.....always good to get other photographers perspective......
Craig - it snowed really heavy on us coming in.....we flew in to Fresno and then took Highway 41 all the way up to the Valley. It was dark by the time we hit Fish Camp, and it was snowing heavily, dark, and the roads were iced over. An interesting drive in to say the least.....that was the windiest road I think I've ever driven.......my wife was terrified and didn't hardly say a word the whole trip up.......snowed on us the next day as well
Love all of these! This is the absolute best time of the year to visit Yosemite in my opinion. Crowds are down, and the weather helps with some wonderful conditions. You took full advantage of these too! El Cap and Tunnel view are fantastic.
I used to get there often, and miss it very much since moving east. My father lived in Oakhurst until we lost him, so I suspect you drove through there since you were leaving via T.V.
Thanks for sharing!
BTW, you aren't helping my GAS. I have had my eye on that GFX for some time now. There really is a special look from the images and your skill creating them
Jim - yes, extremely lucky with the weather!!! About half the days were fairly cloudless but the other half had some good skies. The snow made everything really spectacular!
Emanhan - me too!!! Glad we went in winter....maybe this coming winter we can go back.....next trip will be Zion and Bryce early summer.
Jm10 - thanks....as I mentioned earlier, this was on our way out......most of the times we went to Tunnel View were in the evening.....next time we will try mornings instead.
Michael H - Thank you. Agree, winter seemed to be a great time, hardly any crowds. Got lucky with weather. Yes, we did pass thru Oakhurst....
Sorry about the GAS, I have a fair amount myself.....I love love love the GFX100sII, I use it for all my landscapes and architecture pics now.......have a Sony A7RV for everything else. You should pick up the GFX, it's special
