p.1 #1 · Aurlandsfjord from Stegastein viewing platform, Norway

During my three-day stay in Flåm, I made sure to visit the Stegastein Viewpoint, a viewing platform perched 650 meters above the Aurlandsfjord, offering breathtaking panoramic views. This viewpoint is located along the National Tourist Road, also known as "The Snow Road," which unfortunately made daytime visits nearly impossible due to limited parking and heavy traffic. So, on my second day, seeing a break in the weather, I decided to drive up an hour before the midnight sunset. The drive itself was an experience, winding along a road with numerous hairpin turns. Arriving at the viewpoint, I was delighted to find only one other person there. I spent the next hour completely absorbed in the stunning scenery, capturing photos of the spectacular sunset over the Aurlandsfjord. The views were absolutely incredible. Here are a few of the images I managed to capture during my visit.

Thanks for viewing and I welcome all comments and critiques.

Fist image upon arrival - this is an iphone image.

first picture shows an impressive platform to see the scenery. not too many places have something that nice. like the pictures showing the water, cliffs, and sun. is that a fjord? definitely a breath taking view. thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jung, this place was truly amazing and I found it rather hard to photograph.

Wendall, you are correct, the viewing platform is just incredible and it extends out giving a clear view of Aurlandsfjord fjord. Longest and narrowest of the fjord. I believe it's a UNESCO heritage site. The most interesting part is the Fjord cruise ships are all electric and the design is just incredible. Definitely a must do if visiting Flam.

Thanks Karl
The views were absolutely incredible and the viewing platform design is fantastic. The front part of platform is all glass giving it an cool but scary look.

Thanks Jim,
Yes, the clouds were quite special and I think it was really hard to photograph this type of scene (at least for me )
