In the midsummer, I made this post showcasing the many celestial events we have had in the Adirondacks this year. The first post demonstrated some general astrophotography as well as a shot from the Eclipse, but nobody anticipated that things would ramp up even more in the coming months.
We got a G4 solar storm and this time the skies were actually clear enough to shoot it. We got the appearance of comet C/2023 A3 Atlas, and we also got a pretty decent show of the Perseids meteor shower this year. While I personally was unable to capture that this year in particular, I heard it was quite the event which coincided with a G3 solar storm.
All in all, I am happy to be an Adirondack photographer this year. I could not have asked for better conditions. I also recovered from two injuries/surgeries so it is safe to say it was quite a monumental year. Cheers to more ADK Astro next year!

Star Trails over Elk Lake. Z8 + Z 20mm 1.8 S. 800 images combined. Spot healed the airplanes out of each one by one. 900x 30
HDR Total Solar Eclipse. Z8 + Z 400 f/4.5 w/1.4x TC. 21 images combined bracketed from 1/6400 to 3 seconds. ISO 500, f/13
Star Trails from the New York state highest peak, Mt. Marcy. Z7II + Z 20mm 1.8 S. 900 images combined. Spot healed the airplanes out of each one by one. 900x 30
Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) and the Milky Way during full moon. 35mm tracked pano. Z6 + Z 35 1.8 S. 17 images combined. 8 tracked @ 120
360º Aurora Pano from the night of Oct 10 atop a mountain summit. Z8 + Z 20mm f/1.8 S. 19 images @ 3

Wow, thank you! It's nice to hear you understand how much time and effort I put into these. Much of them were taken atop mountain summits I had to hike to with all my gear, including tracking equipment. It is quite the journey.

Wow, nice images. I especially like the multiple images of Baily's Beads and the Aurora pano. After trying to take shots of the Aurora myself and being frustrated, it's nice to see images like this to get re-inspired.

So happy you like those, both took a lot of work! The Bailey's Bead sequence happens in just a few seconds, so I was just shooting bracketbursts through the whole thing. i did a ton of research to make sure my settings would be spot on.
I totally understand your aurora frustration. I was striking out for 12 years straight with the aurora, often going out when they were calling for a good show and getting nothing, only for them to then pop off the next night when I am sleeping. You will get it one day.
