Has anyone with an a7CR tried Loxia's?
I am currently using 21, 25, 35 and 50 on the a7RIV with no problems but am considering adding another body.
Sorry for the thread drift but the a7CR is kind of close to the a7R5!

I have all the Loxia lenses and use them all the time with the A7CR. No problems generally. The only lens that I've noticed any issues with is the Loxia 50 and only at f/2.2. No other apertures does it have the problem. At f/2.8 it's fine and at f/2 it's fine and other apertures too. But at f/2.2 for some reason It basically will not stay zoomed in on the focus magnifier and will keep popping back out. But if I rotate the ring back and forth quickly it seems to alleviate it. Sometimes I think it's more of the contacts in the lens maybe being somewhat dirty or where the ring falls slightly off of a click point rather than an actual issue that would need a firmware update. I do love the Loxia lenses on the A7CR and find them to be small, of high quality build, easy to carry, a joy to use and the results to me are stunning. One I took yesterday with the Loxia 35 - I love the crisp contrast and saturated colors in the way that the Loxias consistently render. Definitely, I think you will enjoy them on a new A7CR body. Now you just need the 85mm Loxia to complete your collection!

The 50mm was giving me such fits the other night that I bailed on buying a 25mm copy from the B&S board. My 7CR would twitch like everyone describes and then it would go black screen unresponsive. I would quickly take the battery out for a reset and that worked but the battery was very warm after only been turned on for a few minutes (I never noted what aperture I was shooting at - need to run that test). I mounted the 35mm and the focus problems persisted. Frustrating because I too, had an A7Riv and used them all the time. I hadn't used them since switching to the A7CR when it came out (about a year ago) so I was pretty bummed out the other night.
Kenko Tokina has been the distributor and responsible for after sales service in Japan for Zeiss Loxia and Batis lines for the last couple of years and their website also states that Loxia 21/2.8 is discontinued so it seems that it should be accurate info.
As far as I can see, my newly bought Loxia 50 and my second-hand Loxia 24 and Loxia 85 all suffer from the problem that as soon as I change aperture the camera exits the zoom view.
It happened for me on the very fist time I mounted a brand new lens. Some of my Loxias are worse than others. I don't think it's related to the challenges of dismounting of the lens, although I guess I could be wrong.

I wonder if this might be due to undue pressure placed on the aperture ring during lens changes?

Camera: a7III.
This is normal behaviour and the A7III does not have the new menus, meaning old chip = no problems with Loxias.
Problem bodys have the new menus = new chip and exits the zoom view by themselves with some Loxia lenses due to flickering aperture readings even if the aperture is not touched (unknown why this happens on new chip bodys but not the old ones), which makes the body exit the zoom view all by itself.
The new Sony cameras as well as old Sony cameras will throw you out of magnified view if you purposefully change aperture on the lens that has electronic contacts, including Sony's own lenses as well as Loxia, Voigtländer E-mount lenses etc. I confirmed this with my A7CII and Sony 50/2.5 G + have seen the same with my Voigtländer lenses sometimes when accidentally moving the aperture ring while focusing in magnified view. I don't know why the Sony cameras do this but they continue to work like that.
The difference in behavior seems to be related only to unstable readings of aperture setting with the Loxia lenses (when user is not intending to change aperture and is not touching the aperture ring), that somehow seem to cause problems with newer cameras but not with the older ones.
