It's a long drive on a very bumpy dirt road, but well worth it. We had the campground almost to ourselves and only met 5 people on a hike around the lake.
Some of your best color work, Jim! Each one is great with # 2 standing out for me. What a great Wyoming location. Cool that you had mostly solitude also. Easy vote for me!
Thanks for all the comments guys. My wife also voted for #2 as her favorite shot from our month long trip so I got a 16x20 canvas printed for X-mas. #3 for me.
BITD I wanted to do a technical climb on Square Top, but never got around to it - so many mountains, so little time.
You got some great color, Jim. I've never stayed at the campground -- always just dispersed camp by the river. You should go back in early August when the wildflower meadow is popping with Squaretop in the background. Crowded, then, for sure, but if you hit it right........
Super set Jim! The colors and comp in #2 are wonderful. Makes me want to be there. And these days only meeting 5 people on the hike is just great. Voted. Steve
Another admirer of these images mentioned that this was a sunrise image but I'm thinking that if you were shooting Squaretop from the north side (or east side) of the lake, judging by what part of the peak is still lit, then this is a sunset/blue hour shot??
I'm curious in case I do get up there next summer and have to decide whether to camp overnight or drive a 0:dark-thirty to be there.
