Some really nice and unique views of this beautiful area. I remember driving that narrow road down to the beach with the hairpin switchbacks, hoping that another car wasn't coming up as I was rounding the turns. The red sand beach is hard to see and photograph from the ground, so I really enjoyed seeing your photos from the air. I did enjoy photographing the Saurbćjarkirkja though, it's in a stunning location.

Thank you. Good to hear of your experience. I’m not sure when you visited, but just a decade ago, that route was far more challenging - poorly maintained compared to its current state. After the Westfjords began attracting more tourism around 2016, it began to get more love in terms of maintenance.
You’re right that the full expanse of the beach is best appreciated from the air. Another striking feature is how the colours shift with the changing light, cloud cover, and other atmospheric conditions.
