Sigh. When I shot Leica. I loved their 75 apo. But I also had an old Thambar that was glorious. Always been a fan of the 50, but ironically always preferred an 18 or 19 over a 21, just never gelled with the 21; it was either not quite wide enough or the final needed to be cropped.

If it used an APS-C sensor or a full-frame sensor turned on its side, would be also call them “half frame?”
If it is actually just a 1” sensor on its side, calling it half frame makes no sense at all. Calling it “vertical format” or “portrait mode” or “smartphone mode” could make sense.

Apparently the camera will have a 1" sensor turned on its side. But we still do not know the physical dimensions of the sensor or its resolution.
