I've been experimenting with taking photos in the dark with a flashlight as a directional light source...not much good until today, love this one. ZF + Z 40/2

Thanks for sharing. Very nice photos indeed! I recently rediscovered this lens and added it to my kit after realizing with the improvement of the AF in the Zf, this is a wonderful lens, with amazing presence of image (also true of the 24-120.) I am now pairing this with the 50 1.4 Z for an alternate to a 24-70 2.8 zoom and loving it. Also loving the TTartisans 75 F2. Amazing images for what the ask for that lens.

Thanks for the kind words. I have the 24-120, as well, though I find the size/weight of the 24-70/4 to more comfortably match the Zf.

I have been on the march in the past year to get high density lenses in the smallest form factor I can. Lens like th 40 F2, the TTArtisan 75, the 50 1.4Z and the Nikon 24-70 F4S and the Nikon 70-180. The one chunky monkey I tolerate is the 105 1.4. But the 24-70 F4 rapidly took the lead in my "must have walk about lens." It has some decent micro-contrast and renders very well. The smaller form size allows me to pair with the 70-180 (a sleeper of a lens in my view), in a smaller bag, like the Peak Design 6L Sling.
