The Ospreys have returned to the NW, seem to be a little later than other locations. The resident Osprey pair returned to their nest to fine it is occupied by a Goose, forcing them to relocate and build a new nest .The Osprey's found a piling to build their new nest and have been working anxiously at a location that is safe and the distance from the shore at great vantage point for photographers. Using a long lens was at times was to long but some great closeups with no or minimal cropping.
As the female has been working hard to build the nest, with some assistance from the male, and it is also his responsibly to feed the female and is rewarded if he does well, with little mating. The male brought his prize, which come in all sizes, and the female was happy what she got.

I love that first one Chris. The first looks rather concerned

Thank You Morris, He should be concern, because he took a ongtime return to the nest, while female worked her tail on the it,
ln the end it was all good.
Ospreys are everywhere in Florida. My wife and I were watching one with a fish about 20 feet up in a tree and noticed the fish's eyes were sitting at the base of the tree looking they had been surgically removed.
Great shots! I love that you captured them at eye level, especially since it's challenging to get to their level and the nest. The images are sharp, and I particularly enjoy the fish catch. Just a tiny nitpick – I wish the wings weren't cut off in a few shots. I'm sure you feel the same way; as photographers, we always seem to need a longer lens until suddenly, we have too much! Haha.
Wonderful series Chris! Great timing and captures.
I think the look she's giving him is "Thanks for the snack, but where is dinner?" I saw an Osprey carry off a Sheepshead a few weeks ago...that Osprey family ate well that day and probably had leftovers, heh. (no, not a real sheep, its a decent sized striped fish)
