Phil Seu: Glad you like the different takes of the ravens. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Jim Dockery: I thought about the conversion to b/w but liked the modest colours. I shall convert them and look again. Glad you like the shots. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
deke4774: Glad they are one of your favourites as well and that you like them. Thanks for the b/w conversion suggestion. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
bs kite: I am surprised by the like for the ravens. Glad you like the processing and the posts. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Excellent captures Scott!! I've tried to shoot Ravens and Magpies and have found that overcast conditions are probably the best way to capture their iridescence and true colors. They may look black but there's more to them than that single color.
Pesky birds for sure...But some nice shots.
Love the Whiskey Jacks, we had those for a while when I lived up in the mountains.
Would love to see some trapline pictures.
Al Trujillo: I agree - overcast is the best way to capture their colours. And not in the snow with such contrast. But they don't pose where and when I want them to Glad you like the captures. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Bill Gass: I remember when I was young a raven on the power line behind our house doing gymnastics to impress his friend. It was a great day to be sick from school, looking out our window. They are pesky if you don't cover your garbage and I am sure if I ever fail on the trail they will pull me apart - but they are just so fun. Glad you like the shots. Unfortunately, I was 12-15 on my trapline and I was more concerned with survival at -45c than pictures including learning to swim with cross country skis and 7km sprints on frozen snowshoes - so I don't have trapline pictures. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
sum1sgrampa: Glad you like #2. And thanks very much for the great complement. Much appreciated. Scott
