There is already a thread for recently shot film, and the current crop of newer films - but not old films that you finally got around to scanning to make digital versions after years of it just sitting there. If you are like me - you shot way more film than you ever intended to digitize. The usual process was to soup the film, put it in archival sheets, and make selections with a loop & Sharpie for marking keepers.
The rest were almost never looked at again. I have an almost 2 foot high pile of 36 exposure archival sheets left after throwing away about the same number of sheets that dealt with real estate . On the remaining sheets some good images were missed, and some are on no longer available films. Like so (I know I mis-spelled Davinci on the sheet)
A film I should have used more - Technical Pan 25 - 1994 in Leelanau Michigan views near Glen Arbor
Next four converted with a Canon 5DS-R EF 100mm f2.8 USM Macro & 12mm extension tube + NLP
Bugatti's, New Hope Auto Show, New Hope, PA The bellbottoms should give you a good idea of when it was taken.
Nikon FTn, 24 2.8 Nikkor (with the then new amazing floating element) Tri-X, D76

^ Great shots in the Pune series. What did you study there?
Thanks, the curriculum was pretty general. History, religion, politics, the local language (Marathi), etc. Just living in India for 6 months was a huge education in how different a culture can be from the US. One of the most eye opening experiences in my life.
Most of the color shots are from Pune. A lot of the black and white ones are from Mumbai (still known as Bombay in 1994). We would take the train to Mumbai for long weekends.
I have more pics from that time that I've been meaning to scan. I'll post them here if I ever get around to them.
Super. I was going to ask if some of them were from Mumbai(Bombay). Beautifully documented and look forward to others in the series. I had been to Mumbai about 14 years ago and it looks nothing like that and possibly changed even more now. It’s fantastic to see how you have captured the essence of the two cities and the people so organically.
1987. From the first roll (of many hundreds), taken in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a children's hospital. As soon as I was hanging up the negatives to dry and saw those frames I knew I had a project worth pursuing.
What a great thread! I have a big box of negs in storage - not filed, just in the envelope the one hour places would also return your 4x6 prints in.
This would be a crazy but fun rabbit hole to go down. i was super keen into photography when I was a teenager, then went to college where it was left behind and it literally was decades later where I rediscovered it properly.

It is a great thread!! Many thanks to James for starting it. I have thousands of rolls of 35mm and 120 film shot in the 70s and 80s. Looking forward to contributing regularly.
I just stumbled across this thread and it made me realize something I hadn't thought about. I spent days scanning my old B&W negs and slides and had them all saved to MyDocuments on my old iMac that crashed a few years ago. I have a few saved to a folder but I'll have to do it all again. Oh well.
