But seriously, EF-mount lenses are too precious a commodity, because they can be adapted to almost anything, so it makes no sense to convert them even if such a method had been found (unlike the lenses for dead mounts like Contax N that were, once, often converted). EF lenses could still work well for anyone switching to any other system if the RF system turns out wanting for some reason (or, for a very particular reason we all know of ). I for one am glad I have a stable of EF-mount lenses to adapt (in my case to Z-mount).

I drifted away from the forum here for a while, but I seem to remember that some years ago you were posting some really nice work with your 1D Mark IV after a lot of other photographers had moved on to newer models. Am I remembering this right? That was actually a favorite camera of mine, and I am sad that APS-H is no longer a thing.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I still have the 1D Mark IV (and am using it as the second body, backing up my new primary unit, the Nikon Z9). I was absent for over two years since my account was unexpectedly deleted for some reason in June 2020 but came back in late 2022. Not really all much for me to discuss though because I've not stuck with Canon for new cameras -- the R system never did look enticing for me, and doesn't now. But I still have all the same EF mount lenses as before (and even added a Tamron 85mm during my hiatus from the forum), so I'm keeping a toe in the door.
