From a test shoot I did earlier this week in my home "studio" (which is the bedroom I recently moved into). For the last year I have been living in a space where I didn't have room to set up my flash equipment and backdrop, but I recently moved into a room that can accommodate a small studio setup. Since I typically do outdoor location shoots most of the time, Winter can be a slow time of year for my business, but now that I have the space to do so I can hopefully keep booking shoots in studio while it's cold and wet outside.
Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens. Lit using a single Neewer S101-400 flash with a 47" Godox umbrella octabox.
The afro is the best hair style ever Daniel. I would have gladly styled my hair that way in the 1970's if I had any to style even then! Plus us white boys dont wear that style as fine as my Afro-American brothers and especially the sistas!!!
Super image Daniel!
Merry Christmas to both of you!

Thanks man, Im glad you like them. Merry Christmas to you too!
Another shot from this set. This was initially the first light test shot, but I feel like it made for an interesting shot. The thrifted sweater has a texture throughout it that I don't particularly like, but I like the mood of the shot and felt it called for a black and white treatment.
Daniel, I like the above composition! I think the sweater adds some texture to both your friend and the frame. It combines with the background to give a more visual interest, highlight unique patterns(the sweater), or even evoke emotions.( how I would love to be able to wear an afro)!

Awesome portraits with perfect details. I alway wanted to have a home studio where I can create beautiful pictures at my own pace, glad that you got one now!

Thank you! I have my "studio" set up in a fairly small bedroom, with a setup that's less than $500 total. Not as difficult to set up as it may seem.
