I never said that at all. I said that the results that can be obtained from using sensors that are so similar is functional equivalent.
I do find your junk in junk out comment silly in the context of this discussion.
Mischaracterizations do not constitute facts.
Photographers applying heavy grades won’t be impacted because that process typically is entropic also.
Those trying to come up with natural looking colors, in particular skin tones, under artificial light will struggle a lot more with some cameras than with others.
That isn’t a theoretical claim disconnected from actual photographic applications and is therefore not sillly, nor is the view that those differences result from the ability of some color filtrations to do a better job than others at retaining real world color information.

But that is not the sensor, it is the combination of the processor and the editor profile automatically applied on importing the RAW file, and your monitor color biases. You can just create and set the default profile to your own taste.
There really is no such thing as SOOC color. It is another internet forums myth.
Now, there is such a thing as lens color tuning in order to provide consustant color impacts on lenses. Nikon has the best discipline on matching lenses in the industry I have found.
The spectral transmittance of the CFA and the demosaicing algorithm jointly determine colour rendition prior to post capture editing.
Lunar New Year is on Feb 10.
Quite a number of Asian markets will be holidays next week but doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll impact any potential announcements.
I’m thinking this week may be more likely but seems pretty quiet atm.

He told me to wait for that before deciding to switch back to Sony...
Let's hope he is correct on both counts. What is important is that the photographic community gets another great choice, and you get the kind of camera equipment you want whatever the brand.
The fact that Nikon released a major firmware update this evening doesn’t mean they don’t have other products ready to go… Nikon themselves do not seem to be making any noise about the update, and it’s not at all unusual for them just quietly release firmware without any fanfare.
Historically, they release new product announcements on Tuesday at 12:00am, which has already passed for this week. That’s not to say they would never stray from that, but it would be an exception to their normal behavior.

It seems he was half right about tonight. The Z8 firmware update is an enormous improvement for the camera. It may be enough to convince you not to switch systems.

Well, it wasn't the announcement I was expecting, but I like this one even better... the firmware update won't cost me anything, and I no longer feel bad about letting go of my Z9.
The more theused Z8 prices tank the less likely I am to buy the Z6iii if priced around $2500 and sized like a smallish Z8. After tax the Z6iii price will be within spitting distance of a LN Z8 on the B&S forum. Only two things keeping me from pulling the trigger now are 1) have around $2.2k in unused Best Buy credits from major appliances purchase last year that I don't have an alternative use for; 2) the size and weight of a Z8 relative to the current size of the Z6.
As to the new Z8 firmware... Meh... Tons of new features that nibble around the edges and contribute to menu clutter but nothing I find particularly enabling for my use mode.
