I did a shoot with my close friend Caleb recently. I'm always drawn to locations like this one, especially when the available lighting is this good! I picked him up from his sparring class and we went directly to the location to do this shoot.
Canon 5D MKIII, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens, available light.

Focus and intensity Daniel!
Super job here in all photographic ways!

Thanks Dan! Don't let the intensity fool you though, Caleb is one of the kindest people I have ever known, but is a fierce protector of his loved ones.

I am never fooled by these focused people Daniel! He has a kind face despite my analysis!
Again WELL DONE Daniel!
This is indeed a great use of natural light. It is quite remarkable to get such different feels all from the same location at the same time (the first few compared to the last few).

Thank you. There were several different lighting conditions throughout this location, all on different floors of the building. For some I utilized a large window that was covered in gold spray painted graffiti, and for others open sides of the building, and some just large clean"ish" windows that hadn't been painted over yet. I also found a large pile of sand in one spot, which I was throwing into the air to create a dusty/smoky effect for atmosphere in one of the shots.
Was a reflector used to enhance and/or direct that lovely light?
Thumbs up.
Rob
Thanks Rob. I did use a reflector for the cose-in shots. It's not something I always include in my post info though since in the past it's resulted in some rude comments for some weird reason.

Daniel-
Thanks for the sharing.
The subtle use of adding a touch of light can be so powerful.

Helpful and inspiring.
Thumbs up.

A 5 in 1 disc reflector is such an overlooked and underutilized tool in my opinion. It’s such an affordable tool and in my opinion can really take the quality of a portrait to a higher level of quality.
